When
planning any special event we encourage you to ask questions and search
all your options for entertainment before making any decision. For all
events with Quality Entertainment you always have the option; however
with weddings we require to meet with the client prior to discussing any
contract. This helps us both to learn if we can provide you with the
service tailored the way you want and if you are confident that we can
provide you with the entertainment service you want.
You can't ask for a better guarantee, as we pay attention to every
detail. Once we get to that point we will then upon request present a
contract for services. Often times we will include a contract with your
packet if we have enough information so that you may review what our
contract terms are before even scheduling an appointment. Jason Canaan
feels it's a service to the customer if you present all the information
prior, this way everyone is on the same page when it comes time to
discuss the booking process.
This
section of our website is the longest section because it provides
answers to "Frequently Asked Questions" and educates our
potential clients on simple facts of the entertainment industry.
What
separates Quality Entertainment from other disc jockey services?
Simple. Customer service and customer dedication. To us you are not just
a "sale" you are a respected client making an investment into
an event that you have put a lot of planning into. We respect that. It's
a standard to provide your customers with great equipment, stellar
presentation, and do your best in playing music for their friends,
family, and guests. Most of the time when you call Jason at the office
he will know without checking 90% or more of your event information; you
can't ask for better service. Companies for example who manufacture the
product of booking 15 or more events on any given event date will have
to look up your information after placing you on hold to figure out who
you are.
Consider this: If you are planning a
wedding do you think there is a significant difference in the disc
jockey you hire who isn't married or who is married? The owner of
Quality Entertainment Jason Canaan (me) was married on October 1, 2005.
Without a doubt I can tell you that I have a new found respect for every
event that I do, and I guarantee that my DJ's do as well. For years this was a job that I have always performed
well for -- and yes it was another day at work. Planning a wedding over
a 14 month period and being personally asked all the important questions
because I was the "family vendor" I very quickly became the
role-model wedding planner. When you experience this first hand, you
respect the foundation and value of someone's "Most Important
Day" it's no longer just a phrase. So consider this when you choose
your disc jockey: Do you want someone who is single, older, or hasn't
even been in a wedding? Experience is the key to doing anything well in
life. Choose someone who cares about not only their presentation and
self worth but someone who cares about their job and wants to do it.
This attitude will be reflected at your special event; and at a wedding
that is crucial.
Does Quality Entertainment belong to any
nationally accredited organizations? Do you have insurance?
We
are in good standing members of The National Association of Mobile
Entertainers, we have individual memberships for every
professional disc jockey who works on a full time booking basis with
Quality Entertainment. We also have a full liability insurance policy
which protects both "us" and "you" the client.
Additionally, this detail should provide more peace of mind as to why QE
is a solid choice for your event, your venue should require their
vendors to have this type of insurance, and it's a standard which will
separate the professionals in our industry from the companies we would
recommend you to not consider. If you would like to see a copy of our
forms, click here.

Will you
schedule the DJ for our event before the contract is signed or after?
When will we get to meet the DJ who will be performing for our event? We
don't schedule events unless there is a disc jockey available for your
event. You have a choice in meeting your disc jockey. For weddings, you
always know who your disc jockey is, and you meet this person during
your first appointment. Most other events because Quality's reputation
is established going on a decade now, we have clients who either know
our deejay's already or just trust our service for us to accept the
business and then have the disc jockey contact them. The guarantee is
perfect because if for any reason you don't find the person who contacts
you acceptable, we simply reschedule that person until you are satisfied
or refund your deposit.
How far in
advance should we reserve our DJ with a deposit?
From the printed date on your contract, your contract is guaranteed for
ten business days. Most of the time clients are booking their events
anywhere from 8 months to 15 months in advance. Depending on the event
is when you should book your vendors. If you are having your event at a
major venue such as The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club or aboard Pintail
Yachts for a charter cruise then you would want to book your vendors
within 60 days following that contract signing. If venues get booked in
advance, then the vendors who provide services for such venues get
booked just as quick. If you have a special situation such as a future
spouse or family member who serves in the military and you can't make a
decision yet, we will gladly hold a date for you. However, you
understand that without a signed contract or deposit, nothing is firm.
We extend our service as far as to provide a phone call and say "You are tentative still,
however at this point it's time to make a decision or someone else will reserve your
date."
My fiancé
or immediate member of my family serves in the military, what should I
do if this affects my booking date or forces a cancellation?
Jason Canaan is very supportive of our armed forces in any branch of the
military. This is why we offer an additional 10% off to those contracts
with service men and women who provide for our country. We recommend
taking out an insurance policy with http://www.wedsafe.com/
for wedding receptions or inquire about another type of insurance to
guarantee your return and investment of vendor deposits for other
events. If you are a military service member and use
USAA
for any
products or services, check with them about a wedding insurance policy. As far as we know, to this day we are the only company who will
refund a deposit that results in a cancellation due to deployment. We
also hold this deposit if you want for a future rescheduled date based
on availability.
Do
we have a say in what gets played and what doesn't? Can we request or
choose song's for our event?
Yes, absolutely, guaranteed. While we don't recommend that you program
your disc jockey unless you really want to - that security and peace of
mind will be respected perfectly from your "do not play list"
as well as your "required play list" and then we also try and
get your "what we would like to hear" list. Most clients are
understanding in the sense that, you know we can't play every single
song you want unless you time it what way... and in reality that is near
impossible. But ultimately, we do what you want, you are the client...
not us. We pay attention to every detail, as long as you provide us with
the information we need prior to your event. Quality Entertainment
offers a service linked to this website under CLIENTS
ONLINE
where
you or your guests can request music, fill out forms, and more!
What
personality style or performance style will our disc jockey be?
This is where it comes down to your choice or ours, and with nearly a
decade of service we have a pretty good idea on how to provide you with
the best. A professional disc jockey or entertainer will have the
experience and ability to approach any party, in any fashion, at
anytime. During the planning phase of your event you will help us
determine if you are looking for a low-key, moderate, or high profile
personality. If
you would like to know more about these styles or detail one of your
own, just discuss that with Jason or your disc jockey directly. Again,
we always do what you want us to do, your the client..... not us.
Where is your next
event so I can see you perform?
There is no event
where you can do this. All events are of a private nature, professional
disc jockey entertainment is a private service. We would never invite
potential clients to your special event so that we can book more
business. You hire our service for you, not anyone else. Our website is
loaded with pictures of our equipment so you know we are presented
professionally, client letters that exemplify our experience and
compliments, and we offer an optional personal meeting prior to your
contract signing which is the ultimate guarantee of your peace of mind.
What kind
of music do you offer for us to choose from?
Spanning 8 decades including local artists, latin music, and the access
to get world music if needed we have you covered. There are also
compilation sets provided to professional disc jockeys in which we
already own all the major sets as well as subscribe to a music service
licensed thru TM CENTURY called "Prime Cuts". This is the
weekly top 20-30 tracks and then distributed to us weekly via mail on
CD. We offer an online service to search a regularly updated national
database containing more than 63,000 songs to choose from. You can also
create your list and have your guests make requests for your event. You
can access this in our CLIENTS
ONLINE
section
of the website. Our music covers 1920 re-mastered digital music thru the
current hits of today!
What time
will my disc jockey arrive and what will his dress of attire be?
Our disc
jockey's will arrive to your event a minimum of 45-60 minutes prior to your
event unless we require more time in which we will tell you in advance.
There is no charge for setup or break down time, it's included in your
price. We have 3 levels of attire for events. Casual consisting of khaki
pants and a company shirt which is an embroidered polo, semi-formal
which is shirt and tie (jacket if required), and completely formal which
is the full tuxedo. During summer events, outdoor events or hot events
if you permit us to wear shorts we will gladly do that but also sporting
the company POLO. If your event has a theme, we can't guarantee we will
accommodate a certain dress type but we will consider it.
What
kind of equipment do you use? Brands
including Mackie, Pioneer, Ultimate, and Martin Intelligent
lighting. All of our disc jockeys use laptop based systems powered by
Rane's Serato scratchLIVE and each individual system has a built-in
backup as it is managed and performed from professional cd players. If
our DJ's aren't using SSL they are using PCDJ which is also a powerful
system in the proDJ industry. We can go over this with you if you want, or show you pictures
from our actual events if that's easier. You can also visit the PHOTO
GALLERY
of our
site to see pictures of our systems in action.
Do you
have lighting available if we want it?
We use only intelligent lighting, no on/off "do the same
thing all night long" blinky blinky lights here. The best part
about our lighting is that we can actually design it specifically for
your event from mood, atmospheric, and dancehall fun. Our lighting is
pre-programmed with 40 patterns and 12 ambient colors with 12 scrolling
designs and fog if permitted by the venue or requested. Optionally, we
can program a specific show for you at an additional cost. Some lighting
setups may require additional power.
Do you
take a break at all during the contract time?
No. Most live entertainment such as band's will, we have even heard of
some unprofessional disc jockey's doing it, we don't. From your contract
start time to end time you will receive 100% non stop service.
What are
your current rates?
Being in the business for over a decade we can pinpoint the price of
an event and we keep consistent with that. No two events are alike and
we charge for what we do only, we don't over price and don't rip off our
clients. For a wedding our pricing is inclusive with everything and we don't have different pricing for
different disc jockey's with special add-on's or charges to guarantee
someone, etc. We offer consistent, competitive pricing (sheets upon request),
and all inclusive pricing some of which reflect packages. For all other
events it's in the same sense the same theory. Invest your entertainment
budget money wisely, be confident and comfortable with the person you
are trusting with a huge part of your event's success, and remember
"You Get What You Pay For". Just give Jason the details, and
he will quote you a price. If you have a budget, let him know in advance
and we will do what we can. If we can't accommodate your event, we will
refer you to someone who can. We don't charge additional for extra speakers,
or floor speakers either. You let us know how many guests you are having
and we will take care of the rest.
What are
your payment terms?
Deposits as low
as $200.00 up to 50% of the contract value. We will detail a pricing
structure that is easy for you should you want us to. Your balance is due 45
days before your event with your final paperwork which you can now
submit online by going to the CLIENTS
ONLINE section
of our site. If you want to fax in your contract and feel uncomfortable
in today's world writing down your credit card information and faxing
it, our website offers a secure
online payment
method accepting visa/mastercard/amex for deposits,
partial payments,
and balances.
In the end
why is Quality Entertainment the choice for me?
We make everything aware to you from the first phone call or first
meeting. We offer an honest, consistent, detailed, experienced, and
professional service who will take time to make your event perfect from
the initial call until your last guest departs. We stand behind our
company's reputation and performance 100% and we genuinely take care of
the people who work for us which benefits our clients with a great
performance in the end and excellent customer satisfaction. We want to
work with you, not for you!
